I have lived in Northampton all my life, and had never visited the Kreidersville Covered Bridge. This bridge is probably only one or two miles from my home, and I had out-of-town visitors, so we went to 'explore'. What a beautiful bridge and lovely park. We were all very impressed and intrigued by the history. LOVED IT. Thank you for keeping the history alive.

Always loved fishing under the bridge and playing ice hockey here. Boy Scout Troop 40 from Good Shepherd Chruch used to help with the annual festival when I was young.

Here's a remakably beautiful poem written by one of my Advanced Placement Students that pays tribute to Kreidersville Covered Bridge. The poem's potency is found in the metaphor of the bridge's steadfastness.
On the Kreidersville Covered Bridge By Greg Albright (2004)
It is one and one hundred years from today,
when the children will come to the parents and say
“Who made the bridge that day after day
keeps watch on the stream where our children play?”
And the parents (now grandparents) day after day, 5
Will look at their children (now parents) and say,
“It was two and two hundred years back from today
when the bridge was made where the children play.”
“All the horses and wagons passed under the gaze
Of the barn-red bridge that watched day after day 10
O’er the clip-clopping hooves that rolled through and away
From the new covered bridge where your children play.”
“For the bridge that kept watch, every day after day,
Was a bridge built of pride, as my father would say,
It was built so the rain couldn’t wash it away, 15
The rains that still pour when your children play.”
“So how?” asked the parents, seeking to say,
“Has is not been destroyed by the rains, by dismay?
How has the bridge weathered thousands of days?
And guarded the stream where our children play?” 20
And the grandparents, searching through history gray:
“It was one and one hundred years back from today,
when the children decided the place that they play
would not be demolished or rain-washed away.”
“For only by choosing their fears to allay, 25
to fight the encroaching, destroying decay,
can one choose to preserve what one wishes to save,
to safeguard the places where children still play.”

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the committee of folks who have worked hard to preserve and beautify this beautiful bridge/park. We decided to take the covered bridge tour today after reading about the tour of covered bridges in the area. Kreidersville Covered Bridge is the most beautiful of all the bridges we have seen!

My 13 year old son participated in the 1st 10K Challenge this year! It was an excellent experience for him as well as us. We enjoyed the beauty of the area as well as the hospitality of the volunteers involved in the event. Thank you!

My fiance and I were told by a friend to research covered bridges for our wedding;I never thought I find one so beautiful and literally less than 10 minutes from home!! Every time we visit, I picture my father walking me out of the bridge to meet my soon to be husband at the gazebo, and I get chills! This bridge is a beautiful piece of history, and it's lovingly restored and taken care of by a group of wonderful people. (Though I've never met any of them yet, I can only believe that they are wonderful with how much time, effort, and love they've put in to keep this bridge beautiful for everyone!) Thank you for your wondeful website, and for your love of this beautiful piece of time well kept!

This bridge is amazing! My husband and I were married at the bridge on a beautiful brisk fall day, and so the bridge will always be part of our lives. It is truly a remarkable place! A huge Thank You to everyone who works so hard to keep such an amazing part of history so spectacular! The website is a wonderful window into the history behind the landmark and the events that occur at or for the bridge.

Wonderful workmanship in the restoration and preservation of this historic landmark. The particular caring of the park and meadow lets one discover a personal portal to a simpler time. A refreshing venue to picnic with family and loved ones ... This charm and artistry is a tribute to the vision and dedication of the homegrown association.

Going through records of my family's history, I came across info. that my grandmother's family, the Beck's, either built or maintained a covered bridge in Kreidersville. The bridge at some other point in time was referred to as Biery's Bridge. If someone has a more definitive record please get back to me. Great sight and after finally taking time out of life to see this bridge in person, I can say great work!
